On August 19th, 1988 the R. DOBRU RAVELES FOUNDATION was established.
In general the purpose of the foundation is to carry on Dobrus’ work, and in this way, try to
realize his ideas and ideals.
PURPOSE
Objectives and strategy of the foundation
1 To administer, study and propagate the intellectual inheritance of Robin “Dobru” Raveles, with
the strong intention to make his ideas and ideals materialize and live-on.
2 a. To initiate, or participate in activities,contributing to the continuing process of national
awakening which the People of Suriname has to go through, during their struggle for national
liberation. In this struggle Dobru must be characterized as one of the most convinced
nationalistic leaders of all times.
b. To organize, or participate in social,political, and cultural activities.
c. To establish and coordinate a center where artists can get together, and join forces with
the board and others to contribute to the realization of the general objectives of the
foundation.
